I’m Penelope Giannioti, a self-taught artist born in Greece and based in Amsterdam since 2015.

 

My journey with painting began during the pandemic, and it quickly became more than just a creative outlet—it became my passion, my voice, and my way of making sense of the world.

My art is a bold expression of freedom, emotion, and empowerment.

Inspired by everyday people, childhood heroes, music, poetry, and the beauty of human resilience, I use acrylics and mixed media to create vibrant, abstract works bursting with color and feeling.

 

Feminism, motherhood, and social justice are at the heart of my work, shaping the stories I tell through paint.

For me, painting is both an escape and a revolution—a way to embrace life’s complexities, heal my inner child, and stand for a world where women’s voices are heard and celebrated.

 

Through my art, I hope to spark joy, inspire strength, and invite others to see the magic in freedom and self-expression.
